The move-in rule
Moving into a new home costs about three times the weekly rent: two weeks in advance plus one week as an agent fee. Rent is charged on Saturday morning, and arrears block a move. Fall too far behind and you can be sent back to Mushin.
Choosing a home
Early on the cheapest room wins. Move up only when your weekly income comfortably covers the new rent several times over, and never at the cost of the money you need for the next rent day.
